"Get out," he whispers, pushing his wristcomp into her hand. When Martha teleports away, relief visible in the Doctor’s face. Martha’s safe, that's all that counts.

History is repeating itself, he realizes, facing certain death against a seemingly unstoppable enemy. Strangely, he doesn't mind, the hurt he carried for so long suddenly gone.

He's too weak to struggle when guards pick him up, leading him away.

"See you in hell," he grins at the Doctor one last time, proud to see some strength return to the old body.

Never doubted him, never will.

They will fight side by side again.
