Title: History repeating

"Get out," he whispers, pushing his wristcomp into her hand. When Martha teleports away, relief visible in the Doctor’s face. Martha’s safe, that's all that counts.

History is repeating itself, he realizes, facing certain death against a seemingly unstoppable enemy. Strangely, he doesn't mind, the hurt he carried for so long suddenly gone.

He's too weak to struggle when guards pick him up, leading him away.

"See you in hell," he grins at the Doctor one last time, proud to see some strength return to the old body.

Never doubted him, never will.

They will fight side by side again.

This is pretty much exactly what I thought as I watched this.

Great drabble. Sums up how I saw the look that Jack and the Doctor shared at the end of the episode.

That was exactly what I was thinking, watching that scene. That look that Jack and the Doctor exchange at the end..."Here we are again. Just us."
